We are now at Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California. The park is named after the Joshua Tree on the right. The Mormon Pioneers named this tree because it made them think of Joshua with his arms high in the air before he made the walls of Jerico fall down.

We have nice memories of visiting that special place when our children were little, and we lived in S. Calif!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the interesting history of how it was named. Joshua is one of my favorite characters in the Bible.
